Part of our Shakespeare's Heroines collection, this unisex t-shirt takes inspiration from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in which Helena describes Hermia - 'And though she be but little, she is fierce.'
Screen-printed in the UK, with an inspiring sentiment, this t-shirt is a perfect gift for a fierce friend.
It's worth noting that Helena intended this to be an insult to Hermia and Hermia's reaction is not a positive one - "Little’ again? Nothing but ‘low’ and ‘little’!– / Why will you suffer her to flout me thus? / Let me come to her.” Despite Hermia's rejection of this remark, we do see examples of her boldness and defiance throughout the play with her refusing to obey the patriarchal expectations of her father and other male figures. In a modern context, 'little but fierce' is almost certainly seen as a compliment!
The t-shirt has a relaxed fit and comes in a soft grey colour in a mix of cotton and polyester.
Please note the vintage book in the photograph is used as a photo prop and is not included with the t-shirt.
Love, love, love my Shakespeare T-Shirt. I have been buying off this site for years and the quality is always amazing. What’s more the customer service is the best. Please do long continue.
This is my second purchase from Literary Emporium, the tees are so soft and comfy, really good quality.
The delivery was really prompt and the presentation/packaging was just lovely.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to treat themselves or a book lover.
